Amazing Artisan- Mark Shapiro
This week's Amazing Artisan is ceramic artist, Mark Shapiro. Mr. Shapiro's work is wonderful. I love the colors and shapes he creates in his pieces. The images are abstract and modern, but the pieces themselves are mostly traditional. I enjoy the diversity in his work. Mr. Shapiro's work has been shown at many galleries including the Smithsonian, the International Museum of Ceramic Art, and he is a regular exhibitor at the International Expositions of Sculpture Objects & Functional Art. His web site, Stonepool Pottery, has a lovely gallery of some of his pieces. I took pottery classes on the wheel for several years and am in awe of the beauty and originality of his work. I hope his pottery inspires you as well.

I love your featured artist pieces. It is interesting to be introduced to some cool new things and you always deliver. Loved his pieces--they are something!
I'm with Lin - I love how you feature artists. You always find someone I probably never would have seen on my own - and I'm always inspired by their work. Thank you for doing those!
And...I've "tagged" you. If you have a few minutes, I would like to learn more about you. The post is http://bit.ly/13Psft...if you don't have time, it's ok. I understand. If you do, I can't wait to see your answers! :)
xx
