Leaving Entrecard

I will be leaving Entrecard. I enjoyed it while it lasted. My reason for leaving? I have not been too thrilled since they started all of the hoopla about letting paid ads on our blogs. The thing I loved the most was finding all of the wonderful blogs out there while clicking away and racking up credits. Some of these blogs are the first things I read when I get on the Internet. There are some other things within the system that were handled a little messily. I didn't enjoy earning credits anymore. I just wanted to read some great blogs. I can do that without Entrecard. The final straw, that is causing me to leave the system, is their poor support. After I replaced my hard drive and was back in business, I could not access my account. I sent a "ticket" to support asking for assistance. I have had no response after a week. I know this is not an emergency, but I feel a week is sufficient time to help me out.

To all of my Entrecard blogs, I loved reading you and will continue to do so. I follow many of you in my Google account and have many more bookmarked. I will continue to blog here and on my other blog, Photographs From Here. I would love to see you pop in and leave a comment when ever you can. Take care everyone!

I'm half way out the door with you, Merry. Now they are changing how you get your credits too, so even just clicking won't earn me advertising. I'm getting burned out on dropping and it's becoming a chore.

Don't say 'goodbye', because you aren't leaving anything, really. You'll still be here, and I'll be here visiting still. :) Can't lose me that easy!

Unfortunately for entrecard, many are following suit.

It is like they have taken all of the fun out of it. I was never one of those who was hoping to earn money by blogging. I blog because I like to talk and this is just taking it to the next level for me :) I didn't want it to become work and it started to feel like that with Entrecard.

I'm probably not far behind you. I don't feel like I'm getting much out of EC anymore. Just getting a handful of clicks per day isn't worth what I've put into EC.

When I went offline, I left EC behind and when I came back, I just decided it wasn't worth the time. I was in it because it was a wonderful way to find new blogs but it was just taking too much time to drop and became more of a hassle than not.

Kevin and Blueviolet- You are right. It used to be enjoyable. They took all of the joy out of it and made it work.

Don't blame you - EC was a clever idea just poorly executed and eventually usurped by the greedy ones LOL!

Glad your computer is doing OK and you're still blogging!

As I'm scanning to drop, I found this post indicating you were gone. I had you in one of the book mark groups from the group not accepting paid ads. I'll remove you from the group; but wanted to let you know. EC is now under new management/ownership and the paid ads will be no more. I think thats good news. Perhaps too, other things will improve. Like you, I've not had good luck with support; but am playing through to see what happens.
